Blind Spot Monitoring acts as a second pair of eyes that always watches the rear sides of the Renegade. It's intelligent enough to know when another vehicle gets into a spot that you can't see. To ensure that you don't switch lanes and put yourself at risk, lights on the side mirrors will turn on whenever it's not safe to merge.
The Lane Keep Assist system works in a similar fashion. However, it's focused on preventing unintentional drifting. It reads the road lines and takes note of the SUV's location between them. If you start to veer out of your lane without a turn signal on, the steering wheel will shake to let you know.
