At this year's New York International Auto Show, we were treated to the first salvo in new models for the Chrysler Group--the brand new Dodge Challenger and Charger. As fate would have it, these are just the first shots in a long line of model refreshes and updates scheduled to take place through 2018.

The announcement of the brand's four-year plan came earlier this week in Auburn Hills. Every brand under the group's umbrella was there to lay out their plans. While ambitious in some cases, we have rather high hopes, especially given the four-year streak of sales gains that Chrysler has seen.

The cornerstone of this plan is to phase out old models in favor of a few new ones, or adding on models to unfilled lineups. Among the departing vehicles will be the Jeep brand's Patriot and Compass, and Dodge's Grand Caravan and Avenger.

Some all-new models are also in the cards. Chrysler will launch a totally-new 100 sedan and a full-size SUV by 2017, while providing updates to its Town & Country and 300. For the Jeep brand, we'll be seeing a new Grand Wagoneer and C-segment SUV in that span, as well.

Dodge also announced their remarriage to the SRT division, with all-new editions entering the line starting later this year.

While the future looks bright, there's no time like the present to swing down to our Warwick, RI dealership and sign up for a test drive with one of our new Chrysler models.
