Here at Bald Hill Chrysler Jeep RAM, we have a bit of an affinity for sales reports. It's hard not to, when your preferred auto group has racked up dozens of months of continuous growth on a number of models. Now, some of those models--including one not yet released--are having their production quotas bumped up to meet demand.
Two models on the roster are the Cherokee and Wrangler. Manufactured in Toledo, these vehicles have been the driving force of Jeep brand sales throughout 2013, and into 2014. While there have been enough to meet demand, the line workers there have become a little bit worn out by the pace.
So, the Jeep brand has opted to add on a few part time workers to take off the strain, while also upping production by 170 units daily. This won't only add 1,000 workers to the force, but also push the daily production volume to 2,000 units.
The second model is one that has yet to be released. The 2015 Chrysler 200, which started production last week in Sterling Heights, will most likely see high demand when it's launched to dealerships later this year.
To accomplish its production goals, the assembly plant is adding 800 new jobs to support the new model. In addition, the Chrysler Group announced it will invest a billion dollars in the facility's continuous growth.
