Whenever we have a winter like the one we're still working our way out of, we here at Bald Hill Dodge Chrysler Jeep RAM can't help but thank the automotive gods for giving us the 2013 Jeep Wrangler. Not that all of the new and used cars on our lot wouldn't fare just as well, but there's something awfully reassuring about braving the elements in a car that was originally made for military use.
While our daily commutes don't exactly compare to the front lines, there's good reason why the Jeep Wrangler is still one of the most popular models on our lineup. So when we recently heard that the brass at Jeep will be making efforts to increase production of the Jeep Wrangler, we couldn't help but nod in approval.
Not surprisingly, demand for the Jeep Wrangler has recently begun to overshadow its supply, and in an effort to please the masses, the Jeep executives have turned to their auto plant in Toledo, Ohio. For those unfamiliar, the Toledo plant was responsible for producing more than 200,000 Jeep Wrangler models last year (a new record for the brand), of which 141,669 units were sold in the US alone (a 16% increase from 2012 sales figures). With that being said, they don't see any signs of stopping, so it only makes sense that they recently hired 200 new employees at the Toledo plant to account for the increase in volume.
And not only will the new hires be cranking out the Jeep Wrangler, but the Toledo plant will also be manufacturing new Jeep Grand Cherokee models to help meet consumer demand. Talk about a win-win, especially in this kind of economy.
So if you'd like to learn more about why the masses are so crazy about the Jeep models in our showroom, then feel free to swing by our parts department down here at 1035 Bald Hill Rd. in Warwick, RI 02886 for the full skinny. All this commotion must be for something, right?
